Claudia, this is not correct. Feed Wordpress does and is saving a local copy on the site. What you display on the front is a stream flow but is just summaries of the most recent items
You have a full archive, 1389 posts aggregated since we turned it on. Admins can find them on the dashboard, if you filter by the Syndicated/Blogs category
Site visitors have full access to the archive too, and you can find archived posts via the search
There is value in having an archive, we have over 30,000 archived posts in ds106. What are the issues? Someone is going to object? For syndicated sites to work, sites must be public (which is why we cannot syndicate private blogs)
Google caches your blog posts. Web crawlers all the time are combing your sites. The internet archive saves a copy (unless you block it). Ours is even smarter, because if you delete your post on a blog, it should also delete it from our archive.
