this was a great hangout so thanks to all involved
a point i would like to explore is when nishant mentioned the notion of "forking" using the example of rebuilding trust with wikipedians in bangalore
i was reminded immediately of github and smallest federated wiki (sfw) and how the nature of trust is tied with how much control we feel we have in any space. so taking the example of engaging with say web content whether that be code in the case of github or text in the case of sfw how much is trust impacted if we did not have ability to copy that data onto our own computers? and the consequent impacts on engagement with such web resources?
similarly in classrooms how can we give more control to students and at the same time helpfully guide them without taking back control?
hmm anyway random thoughts may not make much sense , don't think they much sense to me now when re-reading
ah well here i go and click reply...
